For both of us, words cannot express the feelings that we have had in the last few days. It has been amazing to see the number of family and friends that this little baby has touched so far, and we know that he will touch many more as he learns and grows. We are extremely pleased that he was born 100% healthy and alert. He is a very quiet and relaxed baby. As a matter of fact, he did not cry at all when he was born. Instead he was quietly, yet intensely, staring into his mothers eyes and studying her, trying to get to know her better. We do the same at any opportunity we get. We know now what it is to really feel joy, and know that the greatest moments in our lives will always revolve around our newly formed family. We hope you all get a chance to meet our son Kalvin soon. He will make you smile =)

35 Weeks.

The Countdown is on. We are officially only 5 weeks away from the due date. Kelly thinks that the little bambino will come early, but we'll just have to wait and see. What freaks us out is that fact that my mother had my little brother Benjamin at 35 weeks, which really puts into perspective just how close we are to becoming parents. Yikes....... So anyways, according to "The Bible" (What to expect when you're expecting), He can be as long as 20 inches by now, and weigh around 5 pounds. I was only 4lb 10oz when I was born, which also puts into perspective just how close we are. Like I said, yikes. Here's what He should look like about now:

We're Alive

We are here, we promise. We just don't have a ton of time to blog that's all..... So, here's a play by play of the last few months

It's a BOY! (You were all wrong. well, most of you). By some magic power, Kelly knew all along that it was a boy. The name that we have picked out for him is Kalvin Tyler Dixon. We love it!

Tyler is just about done with the hardest freaking semester of his life. Last final is Wednesday 4/29 @ 7am

Tyler got his license back! (yes, BACK)

We are convinced that Kalvin will be a pro soccer player by the way he kicks Kelly's ribs until they're sore, or even better, kicks her bladder =)

We had a great little vacation last month. We went down to Moab, UT for a weekend and had a ton of fun. We hiked the arches (yes, all 3 of us. Kelly's a good sport), searched for Indian petroglyphs, and had a lot of fun walking down main street enjoying the shops and food.

Tyler turned 24 the same day that Kalvin turned 24 weeks. We are now 28 weeks along as of today.

It was great to have Brad come home a few weeks ago.

Kelly and Lisa are having loads of fun decorating the extra bedroom for the baby's arrival. The colors are burnt orange and red, dark and light blue, yellow and some different shades of green. It sounds like a crazy combination, but it actually all comes together great! Once we have the room done we'll post some pictures up.

Tyler hates math (right now, anyways)

Kalvin LOVES cinnamon jolly ranchers and hates the vaccume. He really gets moving in mommy's tummy when he tastes (yes, he can taste now) that spicy cinnamon flavor. He also really startles when the vaccume comes on. It's actually quite funny

I think that's about it, and we will try to be better about keeping you more up to date, especially as our baby's arrival gets closer.

Whew!

Hey everyone,
We had our first doctors appointment on wednesday (1/7) and it went great, and guess what, NO TWINS! We told her that we had just found out that we were pregnant and she said "well Kelly you had better take care, there are probably 2 in there." We freaked. Why would she say that?!? She wasn't saying it in jest either, she was actually serious....... so needless to say we're a little scared. It would be kindof fun though. So anyways, we find out around Tyler's birthday (3/29) so vote before then!

We're Pregnant!

That's right, the rumors are true. We will be having our first child around late July. We're so excited! The night that we found out, we went over to Mom and Dad Dixon's house and showed Mom the 3 different pregnancy tests. At first she did not believe us, because we have teased her quite a bit in the past. When we finally convinced her, she screamed like she does when Kyle Korver hits a three in the last minutes of a Jazz game. We are now about 8 weeks along and Kelly has been feeling the effects of the first trimester, but luckily she does not get too sick, at least not yet. But other effects are definitely present, especially when it comes to food. It's funny because I will ask her while we are at the grocery store, I ask her "is there anything else that the baby needs?" When asking her this last week, she didn't even miss a beat when saying "Fish Sticks" haha. Here's a picture of what the baby should now look like, now developing it's heart and brain, as well as some fingers and it's eyes. We're so excited!

The Best Two Years

That time of year has come, and know I didn't forget about it like the old cliche says about bad husbands. Maybe not bad, just forgetful... Anyways, it seems like it was not very long ago that we were celebrating our wedding day. Today is our 2 year anniversary, and it's hard to find where the time has gone. Needless to say, we have had a lot of really great experiences together, and have been influenced by so many great examples in our families.
So here's a funny story : Kelly hates surprises. HATES them! She just cannot stand the thought of not knowing what I got for her for our anniversary. She was home from work at around 4:30, and decided to take a little nap before I got home. I got home at about 6:30, and the first thing that I hear when I open the door is "Honey, is that you?" "Yes," I said. She followed up with "Where's my preasant!?" I laughed, because it reminded me of a little girl before Christmas not being able to take the suspense of waiting for the next day. After some interrogation and guessing, she finally got what she wanted and opened her preasant a day early (She got 2 new pairs of boots, and I got an awesome new winter coat). How I let her talk me into it I just don't know.... Maybe it's those big baby blues =)

We LOVE our new house!

Tyler and I were lucky enough to get into a townhouse that we have had our eye on since we were first married... Thanks to the efforts of Tyler's mom. Now we are happily Lehi residents and live five blocks from Tyler's family. We Love it! Though we have only lived here for two weeks we have already christened the walls with blood... Let me explain: Tyler and I were horsing around one night, when our heads collided. He rolled one way and I rolled the other, completely absorbed in our own pain. When I felt something wet on my forehead. Needless to say I was shocked and at first didn't realise what had happened, til I kept getting wetter and wetter. Thats when it hit me... I was bleeding! I calmly told Tyler that I thought I was bleeding, and the look of sheer horror that came over his face when he turned to look at me caused me to back against the wall, smeering blood all over it. From the look he was giving me and how pale he went I thought for sure I was on the brink of death. He quickly rushed me to the bathroom, where he wouldn't let me look in the mirror, just proceeded to hastily wash off the cut so he could "see the damage.'' Since I still felt ok except for the blood that was by now going down my neck and dripping of my chin, I thought for sure I was going to be maimed for life by how he was acting. After half a dozen phone calls to Tyler's mother we got the bleedind stopped and applied gauze for the night. We then returned to the scene of the accident... It looked like a horror movie. Blood was all over the quilts of our bed and there were bloody handprints streaked across the wall. Scary. But in the end Tyler and I are both now healing nicely from our trama.
